AYA Forward or a solo leadership coach: which kind of support do you need?

A coach may be exactly the right partner for a single leader's goals. A school system or agency building leadership capacity across a team may need tools, learning sessions and an implementation plan as well. Choose based on the job to be done—not the title of the service.

When individual coaching makes sense

If the immediate need is confidential reflection, leadership judgment, a transition into a new role or navigating a difficult relationship, an individual coaching relationship may fit. Ask any provider how sessions are structured, who delivers them and how progress is reviewed.

  • One leader needs a private thought partner
  • The goals are individual rather than systemwide
  • The engagement can be evaluated through the leader's own development plan

When a toolkit or institutional partner makes sense

AYA Forward offers Field Kits for specific leadership challenges, coaching and professional learning, plus organizational consulting. If several leaders face the same issue, a reusable tool and shared practice structure may be more practical than a series of disconnected conversations.

  • Teams need consistent tools for conversations, decision-making and follow-through
  • A district or agency needs a facilitator-ready learning experience
  • The work requires an implementation scope, roles and agreed deliverables

Questions to ask before choosing

Ask who will deliver the work, whether the resources can be reused by your team, what use rights you receive, and how the engagement ends. AYA's individual Field Kits have published prices; coaching, team and system engagements are scoped separately. Your scope and fee are confirmed before you commit.

This guide describes AYA Forward's service model, not a comparative review of another provider or a legal interpretation of education policy. Services and costs are confirmed during scope review.
