As You Are Consulting Group
Experience shaped in systems.
Work built for people.
AYA Forward was built from years of leading inside public education, state government and correctional education—and from seeing how often people are expected to navigate complicated systems without enough structure, context or support.
Meet people as they are. Understand the system around them. Build what helps them move forward.

Why AYA Exists
The work began with a simple observation:
systems are only as useful as the experience people have inside them.
AYA Forward grew from a conviction that education is not confined to a classroom and leadership is not confined to a title. Learning shows up in the decisions people make, the relationships they repair, the systems they navigate, the transitions they survive, and the futures they are still trying to build.
Across schools, public institutions and correctional education, the same pattern appeared again and again: people were often surrounded by programs, policies and expectations, yet still lacked a practical bridge between what a system intended and what they actually needed to do next.
AYA exists in that space. The work combines structured learning, practical tools, facilitation, reflection, implementation support and human connection so that progress is not left to chance.
“The people we serve are never abstractions. They arrive with history, context, ability, pressure, hope and unfinished possibility.”
The AYA Standard
Human first.
Structured enough to move.
01
Meet people as they are
Start with the real person, context and conditions—not an abstract profile.
02
Understand the system
See the policies, relationships, incentives and barriers shaping what is possible.
03
Build usable structure
Translate complexity into tools, learning, facilitation and next steps people can actually use.
04
Design for continuation
Create capacity, clarity and ownership so progress does not depend on AYA staying forever.
The Career Arc
Not a résumé.
A body of practice.
AYA’s authority comes from direct experience leading people, programs and complex public systems—and then translating that experience into practical work others can use.

Who AYA Is Built For
Different people. Different systems.
The same need for a usable next step.
Leaders
Aspiring, emerging and experienced leaders seeking preparation, coaching, applied learning and sustainable practice.
Institutions
Schools, agencies, correctional systems, nonprofits and community organizations that need strong programs—not just strong ideas.
Families + Communities
People navigating connection, transition, restoration, later life, belonging, purpose and the systems that surround those experiences.
The AYA Forward Architecture
Three pathways.
One philosophy.
AYA does not force every need through the same service model. The pathways organize different kinds of work while remaining connected by the same commitment to clarity, dignity, structure and forward movement.
Signature Integration Experience
AYA Harambe
Harambe is not a fourth pathway. It is a customizable integration experience that can stand alone or bring the work of Lead, Family or Legacy Forward into a shared gathering centered on relationship, purpose and commitments that continue.
The Throughline
AYA begins with people as they are.
The work is about what becomes possible next.
Whether the engagement is leadership development, correctional education, family reconnection, older-adult programming, mentoring, curriculum licensing or a signature gathering, the standard is the same: understand the real context, create practical structure, and build toward progress that can continue.
